GEORGE INTERVIEWED ON TRIGGER SPORTS LIVE!

George appears on the latest episode of American shooting programme Trigger Sports LIVE!

In the interview with host James B. Towle, George discusses his MBE, his career and how to get started in competitive shooting.

"You need good basics. You need a good grounding to start with," he explains. "My grounding was in Skeet, so I learned to shoot every angle, every speed.

"Skeet is a great discipline for you to learn the angles and also learn the art of concentration.

"Effectively, once you've learned to shoot 25 straight at Skeet, you can shoot 100 straight, you can shoot 500 straight, but you have to learn those basics to start with.

"It also helps you to shoot under pressure, because the more targets you break the more pressure you get under, because you're getting nearer and nearer to the top spot.

"So the more you put yourself under pressure, the better you become as a shot.

"Shooting is about doing exactly what you'd normally do under pressure - it's how you deal with that mentally that allows you to become the shot you are."

George also talks about how the sport's profile is improving across the world.

He recently visited Italy to host a coaching session and says that shooting is enjoying significant growth both there and in Russia .

"There's a million people that shoot clay targets in Italy - a lot of people don't realise that.

"Usually, it's always been Trap and Skeet, but now those people have found Sporting shooting. They're looking at Sporting as an exciting new way of shooting and they're coming to shooting in big numbers.

"I was over there last weekend, doing some coaching, and there was very positive feedback from all of the Italians.

"The next big country that's going to come onboard is Russia.

"There's a big population there now and some wealthy people who can afford to shoot and have some nice facilities.

"We've been very lucky with Vladimir Lisin investing large amount within shooting - so as long as those people continue to invest in the sport it will continue to grow."
