GEORGE INTERVIEWED ON ITV MERIDIAN

George was interviewed on the Friday July 30th edition of ITV's Meridian Tonight programme following his recent success at the FITASC World Championships in Italy.

Speaking to reporter David Wright, George discusses his career, achievements and winning a world title in four different decades.

"I appreciate that it was the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 2010s, but who's looking?!" he explains. "I don't think there are many sportsmen in any sport that have ever achieved that."

Of his sensational 197/200 score in Italy and the pressure that goes with it, George adds: "You're laying there at night thinking 'I've shot so well so far if I miss one or two now I could blow it all out of the water.' And that puts a different mental pressure on you."

Yet the pressure hasn't diminished his will to win, and he tells the programme of how he keeps himself sharp and ready for even more success in the future.

"I never, ever wake up in the morning thinking 'Oh, I'm the best in the world' because you're only as good as your last result.

"Instead, I wake up every day and think 'I wonder if I've still got it'. I think that if you didn't have that sense of 'is it still there or isn't it still there' then it wouldn't keep you pushing forward."
