25th August 2010George is featured in the latest issue of Rural Sussex magazine, discussing his career and a rather embarassing story from his youth.
In the article, he tells the magazine of his very first shoot, when he was 11 in 1975, which ended in victory.
However, the trophy he was awarded was not quite what he expected.
George explains: "I was so proud at having won a silver trophy at a local shoot near Hastings, that I took the trophy to school with me and showed all my mates who were really chuffed.
"Until one of them turned the trophy upside down to have a good look and underneath was engraved 'Best Budgie in Show'.
"You can imagine how they laughed...The local shoot had recycled an old trophy and I got it! Luckily my other trophies have never had that on from that day."
